Mahjong 101
Mahj 101 is for students brand new to Mahjong. In these sessions, you will learn how to identify tiles and suits, how to read the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card, and how to set up the table and learn the flow of play.

Mahjong 102
Mahj 102 is for beginners who know the basics. Mahj 101 is a prerequisite. Students focus on game rules, Charleston strategy, and building a hand while learning to read the NMJL card more fluently.
At least one full round of Mahjong will be completed.

Mahj 103 is for students who are ready to play with confidence. Mahj 102 is a prerequisite. Students focus on strategy adjustments, card flexibility, and real-time decision making — building the fluency and independence needed for open play and private games.

charleston strategy
Take the stress out of the Charleston and learn to “play messy.” In this class, players practice what to pass, what not to pass, and what hands to commit to by working through a range of sample hands and live play situations.
Students then play full games to incorporate this strategy and are also introduced to solo mahj techniques for practicing at home.
1-2 hour session - $50 per person
2026 NMJL CARD
This class is for students who are familiar with the NMJL card and ready to explore the 2026 updates. Students focus on identifying new hands, spotting key changes from the previous card, and adjusting their strategy to play confidently with the new card.
Students then play full games to incorporate

GUIDED PLAY
Students play full Mahjong games with light guidance. Guided play is great for practicing the deal and Charleston, choosing and committing to hands, remembering game rules, and learning to play defensively.
Practice, play, and have fun while building confidence at the table.
